Default Firmware Update For The BD-UP5000 For Audio Decoding

I think it does apparently matter with the TV too even if you're just using its speakers and not a receiver w/surround sound when your BD-UP5000 cannot decode certain audio formats. Can anyone here let me know when the firmware update comes out for this player? I think id' need it too. Thanks!

Instead of calling Samsung and getting the run around, I'm just going to wait for it and check their site on a semi-daily basis. Right now I'm using an optical cable....and it will be fine for now

An optical cable for what? Your signature says that you don't have a receiver or surround sound.

Maybe he's using it as a laser pointer.

I am currently using it at my PC which means it is hook up to my 32" tv right now and my computer speakers which are Logitech THX with a "control box" that accepts coax or optical input. They sound great...for now.
