I caught that yesterday as well, the local Fry's Electronics is selling it for $799. At that price point, those shopping for a Blu-Ray machine might take a look at the LG. After all, the LG is a fully-functioning Blu-Ray machine that also plays HD-DVDs (albeit without HDi support).

For those looking at going format neutral and leaving the hi-def wars to the HD/Blu fanboys, this can only be good news. Samsung will most likely lower their price on their upcoming dual player to stay competitive.

I believe BB had this for I think 899 or 799 plus u instantly got a 200 dollar gift card, making it more reasonable.

But I already have 1080p players and all. it was really really tempting to get though..
