Crazy as it sounds, it the depth & solidity of the resolution does seem to be evident even from your well-less-than-4k cam.

I do hope that, on the way to 4k TV's and BD's ... that we'll see 32bit color, first. That's really the #1 thing that still bugs me about some BD's and HD-DVD's: color banding is still apparent if the disc hasn't been 100% carefully-mastered all the way through.

In a lot of ways, I'm actually glad that I didn't see that 4k set with my own eyes. At least I won't know what I'm missing.

...This does bring to mind the question: will PS4 support 4k resolution? ...or will we need to wait to PS5?

So is 4K basically the max and it doesnt get any higher (or at least our eyes can't see the difference anymore if it were, say, 8k?)

I hadn't even thought of video game console! I think we are 2-3 consoles away from 4k.

Seriously though, this should be cool when I replace my projector 10-15 years from now.

8K displays are sharper and clearer than reality.

I can see the argument 720p vs. 1080p is noticeable only if your display is >42'', but taken to new extremes:

You will only see a difference from 1080p to 4K if your display is >80''... but it's worth it!!!!!!

Haha humans... someone out there must really be making fun of us

1080p TV's will have had to have saturated the market for quite a while before the manufacturers start selling higher res TV's. And as 1080p TV's are still in their infancy, I'd say AT LEAST 10 years, more like 15-20.
