Umm... Don't ever believe a Best Buy employee. I don't even think Best Buy carrys Vizio at least thats what their website says. If thats true, then that some funny shit.

Also considering that Vizio is the number one selling LCD in the Country go figure it would have the higher return rate.

Overall for a value TV, I have only heard good things about Vizio.

Yeah, I didn't think they carried them. I believe they're a Wal-mart/Tigerdirect kind of LCD.

Well Vizo is a great tv. i worked for circuit city and it had a low defective volume...you know what has a higher defective volume? Samsung....does that make it a bad tv no...you will have a higher defective volume when you are the number one sold tv...so thats not a good argument.

Ever wondered why the Kia dealer is selling the shit out of his cars when the other dealer has a full lot? Because they are affordable to people who would not otherwise be able to buy a new car. There are freakin' KIA's everywhere around here...

Vizio has done the same thing. The Samsung LN55a950 is over 4G's at Amazon right now. So what if it is 1.9 inches thick. I don't care about internet connectivity on my TV or even preloaded content. I want my money spent on the best PICTURE I CAN BUY. As much as I would love to have one that's not realistic right now. Vizio has taken something unattainable and made it realistic.

Good for them. Sure, it will probally not be able to match the overall picture of the 950. But if it can get pretty close, it will still beat every other TV in Samsung's lineup at a better price to boot.

What's not to like about that?

There's a lot to be said for saving up for the best, though (not the Samsung referenced above). The benefits generally outweigh the cons. Kia also have a greater percentage of breakdowns than their Japanese counterparts...and "you get what you pay for" almost always holds true.

Target has started carrying Vizio as well, as of about 2 weeks ago at my store. It is a 37" model I believe. We marked out and sold off all our Olevia LCD's (God those things sucked! We got back defective almost every Olevia we ever sold, good riddance! ) and now we are carrying Vizio as the "Value priced LCD people are wary about" as its replacement. Will we get any of these LED's? I'm not holding my breath.

I have a confession to make.. I use Vizio T.V.s. It started out when I first got my Samsung DLP 42". I couldnt afford a flatscreen at the prices they were charging at the time.

The DLP broke within 4 days of owning / using one. I took it back. CC refunded my money, but I had an addiction in the works.

So I went over to Walmart, spent nearly 15% less on a 50" vizio plasma. It has run solid without a hitch.

Is it generic in name? Yeah... Do I convienently forget to mention brand name when discussing it? You betcha. But it has great PQ at a fraction of the cost.

TV has about 2 - 3k hours on it, and it looks as good as the day I bought it.

I'll tell ya, I personally always bought Samsung...just always had good dealing with their TV's. My father a few months back wanted a flat panel for his living room, but didnt want to spend alot of money and could only fit up to a 37" into his cabinet. I checked out all the tv's and they werent willing to spend more than $600-700 on one. So I saw the vizio 1080p 37" and checked out the reviews. They seemed pretty good and I took a chance and got it for him ( on sale for $649 with no tax). So far, its been pretty awesome! I find myself watching some blus on it every now and then and amazed that this so called " budget tv", could look so damn good! Ive been looking to replace my current tv with a LCD, and the new LED vizio looks like i might just have to get this one. So far, Vizio has surpassed my expectations and while ALOT of people seem to dismiss them because they dont have the name that Samsung and Sony have... I for one am willing to try them out again.

It's not the name, it's the quality or lack thereof. Vizio has the highest return rate of any modern televisions (perhaps that's in part related to the techtarded populace who bought it for price alone ).

Do we have proof of that somewhere, or do we just throw that around like so many other people have already done around here?

Vizio is the company that brought HDTV prices down, plus they are growing and bringing top technology into the market for way cheaper than the competition, how is this a bad thing? I dont get the elitist attitudes about HDTVs, just because someone owns a Kuro or spent $5,000 on a TV doesnt mean they know everything about them. Vizio makes HDTV affordable for everyone AND they just happen to be better quality than most people think, you check out most of their reviews on CNET and you'll find that they hold up very well in all categories.....if I have the choice between this and a Samsung that might look a little better and cost $1000-$2000 more, I'm going with the Vizio plain and simple

I have owned 2 Vizios for about a year now and they both have been great. I got a 32" 720p for the kid's room for $350 and a 42" 1080p for my bedroom for $600. They look very good, especially for the price, no complaints at all so far.
