Well aware, but I was merely playing along with the speculation on how it's so (relatively) cheap. See the styrofoam remark included.

Yet the latest round from the big 3 all earned Energy Star compliance. From what I understand, they use power more dynamically than an LCD, especially those set to torch mode.

Oh, and 240hz is marketing snake oil pure and simple.

Presently I own a Samsung LCD 40" 720P, looking to upgrade in the next few months. I have been checking out Panni's 800 THX monster, Samsung 58" that is somewhat comprable, but will def take this beast into consideration. Especially fo the price. My girlfriends dad has a Vizio that he got at Walmart and its very nice.

Default Sony and 240hz

Sony is having so many issues withe the xbr7 and it's 240 hz refresh rate that they discontinued making them and pulled tv's from shelves until they can resolve the video problems..so how can Vizio do it better than Sony remains to be seen

I just got the 42PZ800U.

Excellent, better than most LCDs I've seen. The motion resolution and contrast are the best benefits, I'd say. The only LCD, I've seen, that beats most plasmas (not including the 9G Elite Kuro) is the the XBR8... but that's $7000 MSRP.

I'm buying this TV, when does it release?

*edit* Well, I calm down and relaxed a bit, I'm buying it if nothing better releases by then.

I need a new gaming TV anyway.
