What assholes. So the only TV the device wasn't working on was the 150" Panasonic one as it hasn't a active IR input?

I would've killed those guys while doing sabotage on my booth.

Wow, that would be like someone coming to your work to screw with you...

"Customer is always right" would go right out the window...
"Customer gets beat down" would come into effect.

This, to me, is totally disrespectful and not funny at all. I would've laughed if the booths were just buggy but someone sitting there, ruining presentations, could've been sued! Do you know how much some of these companies spend to come and present at CES???

I think Gizmodo (already my least favorite gadget blog for their totally bias reporting on Playstation 3), should be banned from future CES shows because they were stupid enough to release this "evidence".

What a bunch of retards. I hope the CES organizers set up Wi-Fi killers in the blog lounge next year and charge for internet connections...

That was one of the most offensive things I have ever seen. It is neither cute nor funny, it is shockingly amateur hacker B.S.

There is just no excuse for this. I will NEVER visit their site again. We ought to boycott these fools.

Maybe we should all just launch DOS attacks on Gizmodo's website and see how funny they think it is to be brought down in public while doing their jobs.

Hi, because I am at work they don't allow our computers to access YouTube. Can someone describe to me what happened?

Seems like they used some pretty straightforward universal IR sender to shut down all TVs except the 150" Panasonic one as he hasn't got an active IR input.

I don't think it's hilariously funny, but it's a little funny. I'm guessing you never really read their site aside from posts mentioned on this site anyways so who cares what you think. I mean you're advocating illegal action as retaliation for a silly prank. Man you're wound tight.

You are making an incorrect assumption about me reading their site. I did, but won't again.

It takes a huge amount of energy by large numbers of people, and having stuff go down is hugely frustrating and downright embarrassing. Sort of like having your pants rip up the ass when you sit down in the middle of a board meeting (yes, saw that happen once).

So there.

Phooey (in the spirit of keeping it light)! ;-)

0 to zero, zero + zero multiplied with 0

I can see how distancing yourself from this and thinking it's funny by going "come on, you have to think its funny somewhat!!" can work.

But it's really not. This is a show where companies spend small fortunes to show up and present their future revenue creators.

An example of how unfunny this is, how about a personal account? My dad works for motorola and a lot of his retirement/incentives/bonus dollars are in motorola stock. Everyone knows their cellphones have tanked since the razor. Now instead of "Wow did you see motorola's new phone? We should go write/talk about it", it's "uhh did you see all that buggy garbage in there?"

It's easy for people to forget here because we're consumers, but VANDALISM like this actually has the potential to affect the bottom lines of REAL PEOPLE.
