Default New Line goes Blu only... as expected

As per Blu-Ray.com:

'' New Line Shifts to Blu-ray Exclusivity

Following Warner's lead, sister company New Line has confirmed that it will support Blu-ray Disc high def releases exclusively. New Line has previously delayed their day-and-date new releases on HD DVD due to the format's lack of region coding, effectively making titles such as Shoot 'em Up, Hairspray, and Rush Hour 3 exclusive to Blu-ray. Although a 2008 release slate for the studio has not been released, an announcement may be possible at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. ''

I sure wouldn't like to be Toshiba right now...

Default Well duh.

It's not like it was a surprise really. They were already timed exclusive on Day and Date anyway....

I expect H-Bo will announce Blu exclusivity soon too.

No, I don't think so.

But, they do hold some pretty nice properties (ie. Band of Brothers) and some good TV.

Band of Brothers, Sex in the City, the first 5 seasons of Sopranos, Rome, Deadwood. ok.....but all high dollar releases based off of what they did w/ Sopranos, and how high their standard def sets are.....

New Line....now that's a kick in the shorts, w/ LOTR (not a fan, but to each their own), Blade, Austin Powers....lotta pull

that depends on when LOTR is announced. it won't make it by the time NL says FU to HD (acronyms, LOL!), why would they make it just to discontinue it??? but I strongly doubt we'll see this in the forseeable future.

Band of Brothers was released on HD DVD in Japan last year. $38 for each volume, from YesAsia.com

$150-$200 at a minimum and no extras? Well, I hope the <4% of Japanese HD DVD owners enjoyed that beating.
