CES's web site says Blu-ray was introduced at CES in 2003
    cesweb.org/about_ces/fact_sheet.asp#1387

    is that a typo?

    --------

Another lie? Both were introduced at CES 2006. Neither was announced at CES2006, but in February (Blu-ray) and August (HD DVD) of 2002.

Note that he also has LaserDisc in there. Is NBC/Universal going to start releasing TV shows on LaserDisc rather than DVD, now?

I'd say the poster made a mistake, unless Vivendi pushed someone to throw BD out there.
I'm with you. It is just about the history of the products at the CES. And so what if they go Blue. The majority of the consumers will be forced to go Blue anyway. It's just a matter of time. I don't have a blu-ray player now but I know I will very soon.
