Default Total HD Box is Ugly

Love the idea of the Total HD disc. This is a step in the right direction, but the half blue, half red box it plain ugly. As good an idea as total hd is, as of right now I don't think its an end of the format war.

Just make the box purple.

The boxes are prototypes, they will almost certainly change. Though the box is not all that important to me personally.

They should have just come up with their own thing. I bet they even hired a company and paid them a lot of $$$$$ to come up with this lame idea too.

The box makes me want to

I agree the cover is ugly and I would have gone with a purple case. Combine red and blue and you get Purple, If they went with a color inbetween a midnight blue and a dark purple it would look very cool IMO.

If it was a 3rd color it would just be another added thing to confuse Joe

I completly disagree. what would be more confusing would be to have them look the same and then people couldnt tell the difference between them. Bottom line is it has tolook different from the ordinary BD and HD DVD packages.

I guarantee that they willnever use that box. those primary colors just will clash with almost every single cover in exostance and they have peole working at those companies that are in fact educated in these kinds of things and will never let the company actually rlease that. That isjust a mock up for the CES show and they wanted to play of the fact tat it was combining the BDand HD DVD disc into one format. That cover clearly shows exactly what they wanted to get across but again it was for CES only and that package willnever make it to the final design chosen. There just arent graphic designers out there that are that stupid and that talentless.

I frankly don't care. It stands out and that's really what's important. I'm more concerned with the quality of the title inside of that box.

Yes it's pretty awful isn't it. And there i was just looking at my (small) HD-DVD collection and thinking how classy the cases look and how nice it was to have one standard packaging as opposed to a mish-mash of 864 different SD-DVD variants sat on the shelf.

Oh well..

You could always use a Replacement HD DVD Case and make your own cover by altering the THD one.

They should just make 'em black or green. That'd be tight.
