Default 24, Prison Break Hit Blu-ray

From IGN:
Quote:
According to the CES 2007 trade paper Blu-ray Today, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release both the first seasons of its hit television shows 24 and Prison Break on Blu-ray Disc "early this year."

"With DVD, Fox was one of the last and most tentative but we are not tentative at all now," said Peter Staddon, executive vice president of marketing at Fox. "We're very aggressive with catalog rollouts and complete support of new releases. There is no comparison to the first six months of DVD with the amount of product on the marketplace."

No word on exact pricing or availability yet, but these two sets are definitely big releases for the Blu-ray format. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.
Why oh why would they release such low-rated, critically-panned failures?

The best show of all time comes to Blu-ray exclusively.

Why? Because Jack Bauer said so.

Sweet, sweet news.

Best show of all time? I would give that to Star Trek. I did enjoy 24, but I wouldn't buy it. I don't tend to buy TV series anyways. The only ones I own are the original Star Trek and Band of Brothers, though I would consider buying Rome and possibly Sopranos.

I am sure 24 will sell well but I won't be buying a copy.

I'm curious how much each season will cost. Will it be $120 each like the rumored price for "LOST" whenever that may come out?

Now this is a show I would buy on HD. I just finished watching Ep 1- 4 of Season 6 last night and HOLY SHIT!!!! Ep 4 is the best episode of 24 ever!!
I would buy all 6 seasons in a heart beat as long as they were reasoably priced. This rumor of maybe having +100, +150 dol;ar TV sets is rediculous. I wouldnt pay more than 70 bucks period.

OMG no way Star Trek beats 24. 24, post kim baeur, is the best show on television. Season 1 of Lost ranks up pretty high as well.

Actually now that I think about it 24 and the new Battlestar Galactica are tied on my meter for best overall show.

I tried watching 24, after about 4 epsiodes the plot and gotten so silly I couldn't keep watching.

Agree on Battlestar Galactica

Would like Nip-Tuck and sex in the city on BD

24 is a great show! But I'm much more into House M.D.!!! Fox could have won me over with House, looks like I'll have to stick with my DVDs of House.

Which season? I fully admit that seasons 1 & 2 were petty hard to swallow at times especially the Kim Bauer story lines but season 3-6 (well 6 so far) and especially 3, 4, 5 & beginning of 6 are simply amazing TV. I your basing your decision off of season 1 or 2 I highly recommend you give the later seasons a chance. I really do think they are some of the best TV that has been made available in decades.

My fiance is a house freak. That and Bones and my fiance wont move off the couch. I also enjoy House but it just doesnt have the excitment factor that 24 has.

Actually, "House" is produced by NBC/Universal (for the first season, and most of the second), but filmed at Fox Studios. Interesting dynamic, to say the least.
