But Sony announced theirs first, that's gotta count for something right?
So much for the bleak HD DVD release predictions of the Blu Ray fanboys.

300, isn't that a Frank Miller movie or something.

Seriously though, 300 movies is more than a enough to keep me satisfied for the remainder of the year.

rofl, only 300 WORLDWIDE? You realise this won't translate to much more than 150 in US right?

Wrong again! No region coding for HD DVD! The entire world is my playground!

I don't know what the breakdown by region will be, but I am assuming that they are not counting duplicate titles across regions in which case I am sure than more than 50% of distinct HD DVD titles will be available in the US. I imagine it will be significantly more than 50%. However, we can always order any titles we are missing out on from the rest of the world.

Yeah, probably. I don't know how they count but sometimes in marketing spiel they count duplicate titles.

Actually I'm not sure now how they are adding up 300 & 600 on that announcement.

Admittedly, it would be nice to see a list

6 of the top 10 HD DVD titles were from Warner!
Thankfully for Blu-ray fans they are one of the neutral studios. I'd be very sad if Warner were an HD DVD exclusive as I think it would be too much to bear; I'd be dual format in no time at all.
I look forward to them catching up on titles like V for Vendetta and Batman Begins on Blu-ray as well as the upcoming Blu-ray releases of the Harry Potter movies and The Matrix trilogy.

So what's your point? That some of the "amazing releases" for Blu-Ray this year have already been on HD DVD for the past six months?

V For Vendetta, Batman Begins, We Were Soldiers are just a few of the Blu-Ray movies announced for this year. Yet they have already been released on HD DVD!

Warner Bros. movies sell better on HD DVD.

Fact.

Warner obviously prefers HD DVD over blu-ray but aren't stupid enough to ignore money on the blu-ray table. They make all the "exclusive" studios look like idiots. Why ignore one format over the other?
