Default Lord Of The Rings - Trilogy

These three movies will be awsome to watch in hd!! Seen them a few times on direct tv in 1080i! I read they are making the movie The Hobbit. So maybe when that comes to theaters they will release the other three on blu? Why they didnt start the movies with the hobbit like the books are is beyond me? Kinda like star wars I guess?

I will wait for the Hobbit to come out on Blu-ray and get that, then watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy again. I hadn't read any of the books and had only heard casual conversation discussion of the stories for decades before watching the movies. The movies are so good, I hope the Hobbit is as good, but totally different in approach to the story telling. I don't know that story either, but I don't care, I expect it to be great also.

I think you are likely right regarding the timing of a trilogy Blu-ray release but I have never even seen it discussed so it might come before Hobbit hits the theaters.

Chris if you ever get the chance you should read the books Very time consuming but I'm glad I did it at least once. It helps to understand everything in the books after you've seen the movies as well. The movies act as a basis of knowledge and the books just expand upon that knowledge.

Didn't Peter Jackson already say in an interview that a Blu-ray release of the trilogy is in production, but won't be released until sometime after 2008?
