The show is distributed by Paramount (if I'm not mistaken) and besides Star Trek - TOS they haven't announced or produced any TV on Blu-ray or HD DVD.

1+

I haven't actually seen any of the episodes but I have had it highly recommended to me. I was tempted at the $20 sticker price but I have to restrain myself and wait for the Blu-ray.

Dexter is one of my favorite shows. I'm definitely rooting for a Blu release of both seasons!

Same here - it's advertised I think again this week at Best Buy for $20.

The problem is that I watched them originally in HD on Showtime, so I know how good they can look. I think a SD box would just sit there unopened by the time they eventually get them out on BD.

Great show - one of the few that I will adjust my life to be home to watch.

my dvd i just got in of s1 (blind buy haven't seen yet) has a CBS spine, IIRC, which is just like paramount, as frasier dvd's converted from paramount to CBS 75% through.

Second season coming in August. And yes, for anyone who hasn't seen this excellent show, blind buy for sure!

Well I only saw the nipped n' tucked CBS versions, but again, they were in HD, and I agree its hard to buy a TV show in lower quality that you saw it in. I'd love to buy Season One, but I too think it would just sit on the shelf.

Just thought I'd ask if there were any speculations about Dexter on BD? If not, I'm going to pre-order the regular edition.

I decided to go the Itunes Route. $35.88 for the Season 720p with a compatible Itunes version. They look pretty damn good, better than the DVD.

Dexter is by far one of the most original new shows out there. For those of you who want to see it, and have shotime on demand, through cable or directv, get it now! i think both seasons are on there from the last time i looked on the list of available shows, i will get dexter on blu thats for sure, but maybe when the series is over, just like lost on abc. Michael C Hall, does a great job, i liked him as a gay undertaker in 6 feet under, but this character suits him well, go bay harbour butcher!!
