Default True Lies

I want it. You want it. I'm going to make it my mission to reply to this thread every month and curse Fox for not releasing this! Its been 9 years since the non anamorphic dvd came out.

I always held off from getting the non-anamorphic DVD version. I held out for a special edition that never came to pass. I've been waiting since 2001.

I'm looking forward to the eventual Blu-ray release. I expect it to be barebones, but I don't care at this point.

I remember when I rented this on vhs when I was in middle school. We had a 65" Pioneer Elite RP TV with an equivalent 5.1 sound setup. I brought some friends over and we blasted the volume during the harrier jet takeoff. I think some paint chipped off the walls as a result.

True Lies is one of the best action movies of all time. Not only do I hope a BD release happens soon, but that the film>1080 transfer turns out good.

Ditto on all of the above! (except I did buy the non-anamorph)

And I can't bare to watch the so-called HD broadcast of it on A&E HD ... all they do is put on the full-screen version and stretch it to fit a wide-screen. Horrible.

You'd think that with all the crap that they DO put on BD, "True Lies" would have been done long ago!

Yeah this movie has become the bastard stepchild that Fox wants to forget about since 9/11. There was a 2 disc special edition planned until for release in late 2001 but Fox pulled it right after 9/11 and its never seen the light of day since.

Well, hopefully Fox uses their brain and puts this movie out soon. 2009 is the return of James Cameron to the big screen...there's no excuse not to have this movie out there too.

So far, the SE is still in limbo. This may change thought, but as of today : limbo. Get either the french anamorphic widescreen R2 Pal disc, or the Japanese R2 NTSC anamorphic + DTS disc.

This movie has a Tremendous soundtrack that will really give your theater a workout. The opening scene when the guy crashes through the glass coffee table is amazing.

The scene where he is on the jet is also incredible. I love this movie on dvd and would drool for it on bd. I hope they remaster it to demo material visually and give it a great soundtrack.

Definite buy for me. I always used this one to demo my audio setup when I bought my speakers and amps in 1998.

P.S. It is freaking snowing right now. WTF.

Remaster. Lossless. Tons of extras.

Damn you Cameron for getting sucked in to Titanic for 8 years. #2 would have been made if he'd gotten out of the water.
