I'm interested in downloading 1942, one of my all time favorite arcade games. It looks like downloading is the only option, so my question is what happens if I upgrade my hard drive or my hard drive crashes? Will I have to rebuy this game?

I believe its tied to your PSN account. Just like you can go to friends houses and log in and DL the games again for free. I wouldnt thing a system failure would cause you to lose it. I could be wrong though.

You will not have to re-buy the game. My PS3 died on me earlier in the year, and when I got my replacement from Sony it was a simple matter of simply logging back in and re-downloading everything. As previous posts stated, your purchases are tracked by the PSN itself, so regardless of what machine you're on, as long as you're logged into your account, your purchases are still on record.
