Default Is super stardust really that fun?

Thinking of getting a game for the. I know everyone is all about this super stardust game. Mortal Kombat 2 looks very tempting. What other downloadable games are good to play for this? What should I get?

I probably should have posted this in the game section. Please move it.

If you like Geometry Wars you will like it. Just try out the demo before you buy it.

super stardust, pain, mortal kombat 2, blast factor (bundle), high velocity bowling, everyday shooter, high stakes on the vegas stripoker edition, super puzzle fighter 2 turbo hd remix, castlevania: symphony of the night, nucleus, fl0w, calling all cars. there's more but they're old school so I suppose they'd appeal to the older audience like 1942, Q*Bert, gauntlet II, etc.

Geometry Wars is better on xbox 360 but SSD is fun.

Pixeljunk Monsters is where it's at. So addicting. And they added more levels in the expansion pack Encore. I downloaded the demo of Pixeljunk Eden last night and I can see where it'd get addicting, so I'm thinking of picking it up. Twisted Metal 2 is a classic must have in my opinion.

Other than that I hear Super Stardust HD, Pain, High Velocity Bowling, and High Stakes Poker are all good.

Another vote for Pixeljunk Eden, my wife and I couldn't stop playing it the other night.

SSHD, Pixeljunk Monsters and Pixeljunk Eden (both seem very simple at first but actually require strategy to beat).

All have demos.

PAIN, Calling All Cars and High Velocity Bowling are more something you would play with friends/family. Not much fun by yourself after a while.

I checked out the demo for SSDHD and didn't really see what all the hype was about. I found it rather boring and repetitive.

Is there something missing from the demo that makes the actual game much better?

Not really. If robotron clones aren't your thing, stay away from games like SSD, Geometry Wars, Blast Factor and the like. The PixelJunk games are, in my opinion, the pinnacle of the PSN original titles so far. Calling All Cars is also a great game for the 4 player split screen.

SuperstartdustHD is fantastic. According to my stats, I have wasted over 20 hours on my copy of the game. That's pretty good value for $10/£5

If you are not sure, there is a demo of it on the store, I believe. Make sure you give it a chance, it's a grower for sure, it seems insanely hard, then it comes good, and gets you hooked. The added trophies really ad something to this particular game too, as there is something to actually aim for.

I have 2 trophies missing (late Bomber, and Shock And Awe), and i'm sure I will clock up another 10 hours getting those!!!

Yes it is very fun and then some. SSHD is not the kind of game you get the PS3 for but you 'll be surprised at how much time you 'll end up playing it.
The gameplay is very addictive and the graphics, while relatively simple are incredibly sharp and you 'll be amazed by the number of objects on screen.
I believe there is a demo you can try.

Instead of Mortal Kombat 2 I'd recommend Tekken Dark Resurrection. It's more expensive but I think it's worth it.

It is fun, and it is worth it.
Just pop in your own mp3s, make a custom list and set it at random, and you're set for hours of fun!!

Super Stardust HD has become my favorite arcade game on both PS3 and 360.
The trophies really help in going for different goals. The game has gotten much better as a result. I have plenty of twin stick shooters and this is best in class. Much better than Geometry Wars. Best thing on PSN imho. You just have to gain some skill to start to appreciate it.
