I can't stand the MGS series. If I want to watch a damn movie, I'll put one in. When I want to play a game without being interrupted by cutscenes and codec chatter every few minutes, I'll put in anything but MGS.

Hey I like that name. I think I'll start to refer to it like that from now on.
If only MGS had the writing talent of a great movie then maybe I'd play them.

I think the story rivals a lot of good movies let alone any other game. Love every minute of it.

Agreed.

All things considered MGS4 is easily one of the better acted and written games on the market today.

we were 3 deep in the series with games that have extraordinarily long cut scenes so how come people buy the 4TH game and STILL complain about it? That's Hideo's artistic view and that's that. Long cuts scenes are so hand in hand with MGS it would be like complaining that COD is "always about war". Its story telling. Want a stealth game with no story?.....go play the Splinter Cell series.

On the main menu, there is an option to view the mission briefings (in case you want to go back and watch them).

Not to mention...there are things to do in the briefings too. Tool around with the MK2/3 if you like and search the plane.

Splinter cell has a story it just doesnt waste time with hours of cutscenes and to be honest alot of them are bull crap. Like the posing and junk really pisses me off and is not needed.
