I'm just being curious. How many of you have been stubborn and/or stupid enough to actually finish the S-Class tier of racing? And did you do it with a wheel or with a controller?

I did it with a wheel.
you have to tune up the cars to pass the races usually, to find the best balance between speed and grip in the corners. eg. tighten up the gear ratios on the Ferrari F-40 race. the forum at GT planet and playstation.com have more details on how to pass the S level races. Its a common issue. |

I was silly enough to do it with a DualShock 3. My life probably would have been much simpler had I just gone out and bought a wheel, but I might wait on GT 5 proper for that. But yeah, the tuning is absolutely essential. I had no chance in hell of passing the S-10 race until I finally chanced upon a decent tuning configuration for the GT Ford LM, and after that it was just a matter of taking the corners correctly and finding the "sweet spot" in terms of speed for nudging people out of the way without taking the ram/collision penalty.
