I wish I had gotten the warranty at best buy.
I do not think it decrees the life span of the Playstation 3 if you keep it clean. I have had my two PS3:s running almost 24/7/365 (some shorter breaks with power failure in the house and reboots of the PS3 for new firmware) since I bought them. They have mostly been doing Folding@Home. My total points right now are 183,242 and the number of WU are 720. Here are my stats:

I just started to run it again and decided to join the team fro this site. I have about 25 WU in and have made it to 20th on the list, Dave I'm coming for ya! How do you get bigger workloads? Every one I get is only a 3-5 hr completion time and don't understand/know how to increase it. I want more points damn it!!

BRING IT ON!!!!

I'm not sure how you change workloads? I have always just had mine at the default settings. Here is a link to the PS3 FAQ's page though if it helps

Do you leave that thing on 24/7 since you bought it? That is a lot of WUs you have in.
Thanks for the link but there wasn't much the way of getting more points/WU.

Sorry. I didnt get a chance to read through it first

Yeah I pretty much have it on 24/7 and its been doing this since Folding@home first came out. I typically have about 4-5 hours a night where I am watching movies or playing games (Warhawk is freekin awesome ) but other than that it is folding

Turn on advanced mode but remember to let Folding@home finish the units. If result is not sent back in a couple of days they wont count.

Well I have been running it for about two or three weeks straight and have amassed a whopping 16000 points in 133 WU. So, Dave, I'm coming after ya at a snails pace! I have had to shut down for a little while to watch some movies and do the update last night but it is running now.

Merlins, thanks for the tip. I did that and I have had a few 1000 point days. The scoring seems weird because every now and again I get 250 points in a 3hr period but it usually evens out over the entire day.

Don't worry. 'Gran Turismo 5:Prologue' is released today and the Gran Turismo series is the main reason I bought the PS3 so you should be able to gain on me faster now

or better yet get yourself a copy and I'll see you online for some races

The team as a whole is close to cracking into the top 1000 donor teams though so hang in there.....

I don't let the PS3 do the folding thing very often but I figured I might as well join a team for when I do. I notice though that this team seems to be for an inactive and/or non-existent site; is there an actual High-Def Digest team?
