Yeah, yeah... I bought it so I could help with the research, and then I found out it plays games and blu-ray. So I might check those out someday...

Does anyone have an idea of how much Internet bandwidth this uses?

My only concern is that I'm on satellite broadband internet (I live in the boonies), and have strict rolling 30 day cap on up/down data. As in if I were stupid enough to try to download a high def movie, I would exceed the limit before I ever got the movie.

as far as I know, it dosent really take in that much information because its more calculations then anything else but I really have no idea

it's very small use of bandwith.

basically, it uses bandwith at the end of each WU to upload the completed work unit, and download the next one... between that, it's all calculations. The work units themselves are only MB's big.

Yep. I'm halfway through processing my third file, and I can see it has very little affect on my bandwidth usage.

Thanks.

I joined up... never had the time to get around to Folding@Home, but i found some and decided to dedicate my PS3 to doing it while i'm not using it. All for a great cause!

PS. Yeah, the background is pretty cool, and it's interesting to see who else in the world is helping out. Not to mention it's pretty good looking, heh.

I have been using the Folding@Home for a while, but I never figured out how to find a team to join until now.

What difference does joining a team make? Will it make the Folding process more efficient and powerful?

I'm in! I'll be able to leave it on all night, and most of the day while I'm at work.

The weekends belong to Kingdom Hearts though!
