Does any body know of way - to make the folding app go in background while say watching movie or playing game. With the power of Cell processor, I think that would be possible.

you would assume but it just depends how many of the processors its using. It might just be tapping into all of them but if there will be a way, it will be with a future update because currently, you for sure cannot

Another nice feature, would be time out to Folding, I was downloading some stuff and decided to get on internet and left it on the screen. Wasted time - oops. Got to start it before going to bed.

mowhahaha. That, there actually is. Go under the Network Tab. Scroll down to Folding@Home and push triangle and it brings up some options of how long when your PS3 is idle for do you want Folding@home to kick in

This is not exactly what I wanted but close - I would like it work in background and just go to lower priority.

You can access the web browser via the 'Create a Team' option, but URL entry and Bookmark access is blocked. It's still crunching numbers in the background too. Oh well.

Do you actually have to join a team and leave your PS3 on for the "folding" to work? Not that it matter if I leave my PS3 on all day, but I also want to play games . Hey Illegal, I think I will join your team tonight buddy.

I believe currently the PS3 can't not be do anything else. I also have it running on one my PC ( Dual Xeon ) counting toward same team - I could put it on other machines - normally I only have 2 of my 4 PC's ( not counting notebooks running ).

I am noticing that a straight PS3 folding system is getting more points per Unit - but I consider my extra PC units as just additional benifit.

Please note 6 of those 22 units so far - are from my PC - according to the folding site, the combination of PS3 and PC is good combination because PS3 can't do some of things that PC client can do - so doing it combination will fold more different stuff. I been folding almost 24/7 - recently shut things down to re-arrange my power with new Clean Power and place the the PS3 in more ventilated area.

Has anybody else notice that some times the client has problems updating an unit. I had to turn off my PS3 to get network connection - but it appears to never update the job. It was several hours ago

yea. ive ran into the same exact problem. It seems to get stuck and quiting wont work. Not from in menu, not from Force Quit by holding down the PS button and going to go to QUIT.

You have to just turn it off. I normally, try to fold@home as much as i can when Im home. If i turn on the PS3 for something, I dont then turn it off and leave it be for a few hours but I dont ever leave all day.

Once I pickup a second PS3, ill then leave it to fold much much more hopefully and thanks to all those who have joined my team or any team or hell, thanks for just running it

I'll be joining up this weekend. Won't hurt to let spending on myself help somebody else.
