Blu-ray 1.1 support comes early...
I am downloading the update(2.10) now, can't wait to watch all of my DivX movies on my PS3, either!

same here. I was trouble shooting my wireless connection because it downloads at a whopping 7K a second, when I switched over to wired and was presented with the update.
wired is a lot faster but by no means blazing.

I have a wired connection for my game systems and the PS3 always takes forever to download. The 360 is pretty fast for downloading so I know it's not the connection. It's kinda annoying how long the downloads take but I play Resistance all the time without lag so it's not a huge deal for me as long as I can play online lag free.

But wait. I was told many, many times that the PS3 would NOT be able to upgrade to profile 1.1. Why would they lie? What would they possibly have to gain?

I have'nt gotten the Update to works, has any body tested Xvid Encoded files to see if they work? Will it play files with an avi extension or just a .divx extension?

My PS3 upgraded to the new firmware plays xvid encoded .avi files. I tested out Family Guy and Project Runway (my fiance's show) and they played fine.
