Question 'All the King's Men' -- High-Def Digest review

Also checked out 'All the King's Men' tonight:

Disappointing movie. I can see why it didn't do well at the box office. Really wanted to like it, though.

At least the Blu-ray is solid. Very good transfer and soundtrack. No extras, though the standard-def DVD had some. Worth a rent for the curious, at best.

Angry Not that I haven't been warned!

Now that I have seen the film I completely agree with your review. I thought I might like it because of the cast and the period (I am a sucker for films that play in the forties, fifties) but it really was a complete dissappointment.

One remark: Kate Winslet does play Anne Stanton but Anne Stanton is not the "Slut on Skates". You got that wrong, the skater is played by Nicole Bobek.

I cannot understand why Sony did not include any extra features, I particularly would have liked to watch the deleted scenes. This is in my opinion a bad service they are doing to the format they want to push. Or do they think that blu-ray buyers who want the best possible image and sound quality are going to buy the DVD, too, just for the extra features?
