Anchor Bay is known for putting out horror films, like 'Halloween' & 'Dawn of the Dead.'

Isn't this old news? I remember hearing about this a week ago. Yay, just like every other small studio supporting a format.

Anchor Bay is a huge piece of the puzzle. Their horror catalogue is very extensive, which is a definite blow to HD DVD.

Uh oh...

Guess I had better start another thread on why I should stick with HD DVD.

I'm doomed...

Hopefully the masters are in good condition. For some reason, I just don't think the Evil Dead master has been properly preserved. Just a thought, though.

Halloween sounds exciting, though, as long as it handles the darkness well. I've seen a few night-intensive transfers that really poorly handle it.

You're right. Alot of these movies are low budget and I imagine I will wait for reviews on alot of Starz horror releases to see how well the PQ will look. (I'm not expecting DTS HD-MA sound because of how old the movies are)

As far as Halloween is concerned, I think the last Anchor Bay release had the an alternate color timing compared to the other releases so I hope they either remaster that or at least use a different master than the last release.

Not to mention, they also (I believe, since they're the DVD publisher) own the rights to the Highlander films on home video. Another big franchise all-Blu.

The only MoH discs I'm interested in are John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns and Dario Argento's Jenifer. I thought the others (with the exception of Imprint, I haven't seen it) were lacking.

Starz owns Manga Ent. don't they? So.... I hope and pray this speeds up the process of getting Ghost in the Shell on Blu-Ray faster (GiTS2 is already on BR in JP... though Dreamworks owns the rights to that one).

Oh and I hope this means Hellboy Animated in HD soon.
