'Flashdance' -- pre-release buzz

Paramount has announced another classic catalog title to hit Blu-ray, this time it's 'Flashdance' on September 18:

Once again, it's timed to coincide with the release of a new DVD special edition re-issue of the film. No details available yet, but there should be plenty of new extras...

Not sure how good it can llok in HD. Dirty Dancing doesn't look so hot in HD, and that came out after Flashdance.

It's some real BS that this has now gotten delayed indefinitely - I was really looking forward to it. One of the few upcoming titles that I could say that for sure about too. Paramount needs to get into gear a lot more and stop doing things such as this as well.

Then again, if they are delaying the release to make the sexy dancing scenes look sharper/cleaner then ever - then I can understand...

This film is one of the worst films ever produced. I understand Paramount's decision to pull it. Smart move.

Its not just the look Id be worried about.... Id be afraid of how the film holds up. It could be unintentionally funny though so perhaps it can be marketed as a comedy along with most other semi-dorky 80's flicks?

No doubt there is a clamoring from video enthusiasts and film gurus for this gem of a title.....
