There are people out there that just only like the first two movies and do not want to buy the boxset. And there will be plenty of new Blu-Ray owners after Christmas.

I don't. But only because I'm still waiting for the collection to drop more. Bought the SD collection for a ridiculous price shortly before the restored versions came out, and haven't brought myself to upgrade yet. I sure won't be buying these though.

This will depend of price, I have been wanting these. Walmart has all three for $60, but if I can get 1 & 2 for let's say $40 I'll jump on it.

Incorrect. I've been waiting for this because I only want the first one. Parts II and III are crap. A day one buy for me.

when the price at amazon was low enough to justify the purchase most people jumped in, and i know those special features on the box set are part of the price. i hope these sapphire series releases don't have the special features found on the box set. that'd be a trip.

you're the only one i know who thinks II is crap. i should've said in my first post that the high majority of people own the boxset.

I bought the collection and have never looked back.

Seeing as how these individual releases won't have the bonus features that are in the box set (most likely, seeing as how they've only been in boxes before), and the fact that most of us already got the collection who cares?

Why doesn't Paramount just skip over this pointless reissue and release Apocalypse Now, the OTHER great Coppola film, as part of the Sapphire Series?

Are the upcoming releases a new transfer???? The specs reference a Copolla restoration.

The boxset was a Copolla remaster. These should be identical to the boxset.

Your post applies to me. Godfather 3 was horrible and is not welcome in my Blu-Ray library.

to each their own. i think 3 is a great film with pacino's performance being as strong as the first two, maybe the best of the 3. the film shows at the very end of the saga,
Spoiler:
crime does not pay, and only brings misery to one's life.
i wonder how people would've reacted to the film if it had the original name coppola wanted "the death of michael corleone".

This...... this is the saddest thing I've read in weeks. Three is a terrible, terrible film in all aspects. It isn't just the fact that it isn't as good as the other two. It's a horrible movie by itself.
