The film should not be on Blu until next year. Btw the 'limited engagement' was extended to a regular threatrical release for Thanksgiving weekend.

of course it was, the "limited engagement" was just a gimmick in the hopes of luring a bigger audience. sony never planned to really take it away after 2 weeks. its just like what happend with Paranormal Activity, they knew they were gonna release it widely at some point. the whole "demand it" thing was just a promotional gimmick.

I watched it last weekend and beings I am a fan of his stuff (Off the Wall and Thriller albums mainly) I will pick this up on Blu-Ray. An HD audio track for this will be great. This documentary/behind the scenes hybrid was really entertaining.

Thanks for contributing to the conversation. We are glad you are passing on the disc. If you have ZERO interest, why did you even come to this forum?

I'm still a big enough fan that I'll definitely be getting this. I'm actually a bit more interested in the doco stuff than the rehersal footage.

And I'd kill for a disc with all his videos on it.

At least they gave an opinion on the actual topic.

What's the ratio between the docu stuff and the rehearsal footage in "This Is It?" I used to think it was all rehearsal footage without the audience and final pyrotechnic effects.

It's mainly rehearsal footage, but there is some interviews mixed in as well as footage for what they were doing... really hard to explain.

I saw it in theaters and will be picking it up fo-sho!

Curiosity means I will want to rent this. I am not a big fan but I do like some of the hits and although I was pretty sure he could no longer sing well enough to pull this off, I want to see how he was doing in preparation for his big comeback concert series. Reviews I have read are positive and the few clips I have seen have him looking fit and agile although sounding strange.
