Glad to see that Last Action Hero is coming out - now I just need Twins and my guilty pleasure Arnold collection will be be complete.

This will look stunning on blu-ray (especially in 120hz). I don't know why people dog on this movie and Stallone in general. He's made a few bad films. Name an actor that has been working as long as he has with a flawless filmography. Can't do it, can you?

I'm all over Last Action Hero. It's a shame they continue to mock it with bare-bones releases though.

Default Cliffhanger

I really enjoyed Cliffhanger. It is a good adventure movie and one of Stallone's best. This one is a must own, and with a nice set of features.

Last Action Hero was ok, but not one I'll be picking up.

But yeah, sticking the trailer on the disc (even if it was just an old crappy quality version) shouldn't be too hard, should it?
Yep. All I could find was the pan and scan, which most retailers seem to carry. I'm glad I will finally be able to watch it in it's OAR.

As I wrote over on bluray.com:
I will be interested in Cliffhanger only if there is a proper remastering. The current blu-ray available in the UK and Australia is absolute garbage. Personally, I wish they would release a full-blown SE (or even CE) with not only the trailer in HD (agreed that it is one of the best trailers of all time!), but also the extended workprint version that I still have not seen.

The news that Last Action Hero is coming to Blu absolutely made my day!!! This is in my top 5 movies of all time, and still ranks as one of the most misunderstood movies in history. I have the Superbit DVD (from HK, and is anamorphic) and have watched it at least twice in the past year. Sarcasm is my favourite form of humour, and this film oozes sarcasm from the first to last frame. And you can quote IMDB and RT ratings all you like... they are just numbers, and as any self-respecting film-buff can tell you... no review or score can tell you whether you will like a movie or not.

I'm loving this, I just went and repurchased dvds, all the Jaws and Halloween movies, I was having withdraws. I have the Halloweens on blu, but I almost picked Cliffhanger and Apocalypse Now, Aliens Quadrilogy, Indiana Jones Trilogy back up. I decided to wait on those. My day just got better.

Buying DVD's these days almost seems futile... it would have to be an obscure title for me to make the purchase, as I find even an upscaled DVD image to be unworthy of my time.

Give it another go (rent it, that is!)... you'll quite possibly be seeing it differently now.

Default I love that movie

I am glad this movie finally get's a Blu Ray release. I remember buying the UK Laserdisc in vienna for about $130 about 13 years ago or so.. From my over 200 laserdiscs this pal LD was the best looking I had.. The DVD left much to be desired.. So I am glad this movie finally is released in the best possible quality..
