Cool to see a release on Blu, but, the last season I own is 10, and I plan to leave it that way. For me, that is about when it began to lose its way.

Hell yeah, even though The Simpsons isn't good anymore, it's still a start.

I am a big Simpsons fan and I still like the show even though its not nearly as good as it used to be. I feel the same way about south park and i will be picking up season 20 0n blu-ray when its released.

I just hope it's not too compressed. Everything points to this season being on 2 BD50 discs.

Awesome! Can't wait, but what? Why are they skipping 14-19?
Doesn't make sense.

Which season did they begin airing in HD?

Nope. Season 20 is the first, and the whole season isn't in high-def to begin with. The first episodes will be in standard definition on the Blu-ray release.

Funny, since South Park season 12 was done like that.

But anyway, hopefully someone can answer my Q. above. (no pressure tho )

Almost the same for me, but my collection stops at 11. I can't remember how great that season is overall, but the Mel Gibson and Mark Hamill episodes alone made it worth picking up. Immediately after 11 is where I remember losing interest in the series, and I think by season 12 or 13 I stopped watching entirely.

I'm sure those are coming, but the time to profit off the recent episodes is now when they are still fresh in the minds of viewers. Now that they can also appeal to high-def audiences, why not. The middle seasons will still come out as normal, but they are losing out on money if they waited 5 or 6 years to release this previous season.

That's funny, as I felt 7-10 were the low point, and 12 is where it began going back up again. Hell, if you love Season 1-10, you sure as hell should at least check out Season 19 and 20, as they truly feel like classic Simpons quality, especially the 24 spoof episode from 19.

You should check out the episode Trilogy of Error on Season 12. That is by far the greatest Simpsons episode since Treehouse of Horror V.

Well to be completely honest it started to fall off for me beginning with season 8, but there were still enough moments in the next few to keep them decent. Truth be told I would have stopped at 9, but I had to finish out the "heads" collection.

I have caught a few newer episodes lately and they have been better than I expected, so maybe I will check out 20 (still probably won't buy it).
