Awesome, I actually liked the first one, so I'll def check it out.
Not sure how good a Direct to Video sequel will be, though... -

So i just looked this up in IMDB. The guy who directed this did Sniper 3. I gotta admit, I like the Sniper series (don't ask me why). The cast looks good too, Michael Parks, Ernie Hudson, and Vinnie Jones.
So it's not a purchase but def a Redbox rental and if we're lucky, some HD Netflix streaming to boot.I don't care what the white mon say, Santa Clause was a black mon.

Ummm...when is the first one coming to
? I hope this isn't another situation like The House On Haunted Hill where we have the second one but never the first.

I know the first one wasn't received well by critics, but I liked it too. I thought it had a great ending.

I definitely like the smokin aces, the ending is great, the score sets it off... I actually defend this movie alot, I think theres a whole theme about how generations de-evolve and how father/son dynamic plays into, which makes the ending have the impact it has...
I think any resemblance of these themes will probably dissapear in a direct to video unnecessary prequel, but I'll give it a rent.Main Setup: Mitsubishi 63" DLP/Panny BD30/HD-A35/Onkyo 705/ Sony 7.1 speaker setup.

that was great and the movie as a whole really shows reynolds range from a comedy actor to a dramatic actor. i heard he's excellent in the nines, i need to see it.
my favorite scene is wheni think that scene kinda sums up the whole movie, it a bunch of violence with guns and a whole lotta drugs. i also think this movie displays piven's acting abilities, and it's too bad he hasn't done more dramatic roles since.Spoiler: -

While I liked the ending on it's own, it felt so wierd compared to the rest of the film. Up until the end it had almost a Crank vibe going with how ridiculous and over the top everything was, then all of a sudden it shifted gears and tried to be a serious dramatic film, and I just couldn't make the transition.
RIP Kosty you are missed. -

The 1st one is definitely coming out day and date same as the "sequel". And because it's a Universal release, it'll be DTS HD-MA. I'm lookin' forward to replacing my HD DVD with this.

I can't say the same...I sold this one off. Apart from some actually funny moments (the disturbed kid), the film is too trashy and preposterous as a whole.
