Default 'Immortal Beloved' -- pre-release buzz

Sony has announced another new catalog title for Blu-ray:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/immortalbeloved.html

It's due August 21, and not too much on there -- just an old featurette. Not sure how big the appeal might be for this one?

Can you guys not fix trhe news story page so that the paid Matrix ads that are in every nook and cranny on this site go over to the side.

It's a little annoying the way it's currently appearing to say the least. We get it.

Me neither. Might get it if review is good or if my daughter begs me enough. She loves musicals. This does not look like my kind of movie but I do like Gary Oldman. Hmmmmm??

I don't know how old your daughter is, but this is not a kids movie(nudity). It is a great movie though, Gary Oldman is excellent as Beethoven and the soundtrack is excellent. With the uncompressed PCM, I predict a 5 star for audio.

Now when is warner going to release one of my other favorites, Amadeus.

Amadeus will be high on my list too, amazing performances by everyone involved. Didn't F. Murray win the Oscar for Best Actor for that?

I agree, this is definitely not a kids' movie or a musical in the traditional sense. It is a terrific movie and should sound amazing w/PCM. It's one of my all time favorites.

well i hope they do a better job on this one. seven years in tibet had the dreaded edge enhancement in quite a few scenes suggesting an older master was used. come on sony, give me a reason to upgrade my dvd.

Default I won't buy unless it's BD-50

We're moving up to blu-ray for the utmost in quality. Come on now...please skip the BD-25 and give this movie the proper BD-50 treatment.

I'm not going to bother with this unless they're going to have a guaranteed upgrade program when they offer the BD-50 version.
