Default 'Every Which Way But Loose' - High-Def Digest Review

This review goes out to Chris!

Nate has checked out 'Every Which Way But Loose.' He says this mix of manly action, zany comedy, and romantic drama is superb, a fan favorite for a reason! This Blu-ray doesn't have the greatest video or audio, and there are no extras whatsoever. This is for fans only.

nevermind, it's working now. Might have to pick this up on sale at some point to watch with Dad sometime. I can remember watching this with him as a kid.

On another note, is it a bad thing when the most memorable actor to you was the primate?

nice review, nate.

only one gripe -- and I know it's just me being anal and an educator and all, but . . . orangutans are NOT monkeys. FAIL.

lol I wasn't sure how to spell orangutan and didn't want to call it a monkey for fear of getting called on it, hence primate in my post.

I do remember this as a fun movie, but am wondering if the luster won't be there on a view now.

I love how this movie is referenced more than once in 'Shaun of the Dead.' A primate that flips people off....priceless

i'm too lazy to google at the moment.... but wasn't the sequel "any which way you can" and not "any which way but loose"

i'll probably look like a major tool for noticing... or for getting it wrong?

well, nate knows I'm just messing with him. it's easy to give him a hard time.

I still kinda like the movie, if for nothing else just the 80s feel of it is very nostalgic.

yup, hence the pic. it is indeed priceless.

i had my girl, who has different tastes than me, easily, sit down w/ me on this one, and she just couldn't grasp the film, or what the hell the bloody point was. and then she couldn't get it, or the inanity of it all, out of her head. i should probably slip the theme song into her ipod.

Yeah, this film was before my time, but I still love this movie. I think I like the sequel a bit more - "left Clyde" - but this was a great bargain pickup IMHO. Perfect for killing a lazy Saturday afternoon.

It's been ages since I have seen this movie. May have to give it a rent sometime to refresh my memory. One thing about Clint's movies, they almost always have some sort of entertainment value.

Default Ruth Gordon shines

I got worried she was going to get overlooked, but she's the star of the show as far as I am concerned.

''Philo picks fights over territorial disputes about bar peanuts.''

He didn't pick a fight.. he was getting peanuts for Clyde and was more or less threatened/accosted.. I like this movie quite a bit and have been waiting forever for a review here... sadly it doesn't seem like the movie was actually watched

The movie has no point? No antagonist? Most certainly does.. The point (from my many viewings) is how far a naive guy will go in pursuit of love (I myself have done some stuuupid shit for a girl I shouldn't have even bothered with also).. love, in the end is the protagonist and antagonist.

Although the pic quality in the review was more or less accurate -- as much as I like this movie I sold it and am sticking with the dvd.
