Default 'Home Alone' - HIgh-Def Digest Review

Nate has swallowed his Grinchy ways and revisited 'Home Alone.' This one is bound to get you guys nostalgic! The video and audio are improved, but certainly not demo material. Still, this one is recommended. Check it our and recall where you were the first time you saw it!

when i saw this i had to stand at the back of the theater with my friend to watch, it was pretty much sold out, no two seats together, and when you're between 8 - 10 years old you don't want to sit next to a bunch of strangers

I saw this with my entire family (very very rare, my parents hate the theater and the last movie they saw in the theater was....Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring). My dad was laughing louder than the entire theater.

Just watched the Blu-ray yesterday myself. I'm pleased with the film, though the picture is nothing to brag about. Still could have been worse.

Glad to see "the Grinch" liked the film.

The boiler scenes used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid. :P

It's unfortunate that the video on this one is so dull and soft. Home Alone 2, on the other hand, looks spectacular in HD.

This and the sequal are 2 of my dad's favorite movies for some odd reason. He probably wouldn't admit it to people, but living with him I know that he watches each a couple times every Christmas season.

Hmm, didn't the same thing happen with the first two Harry Potters?

But yeah, my family still loves this movie, the dvd gets quite a bit of use year round. As for the sequel...what a obnoxious movie.

Yup, I believe Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are two of my dad's favorite movies ever.

Oddly enough, the other I believe is The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

I love this movie!! Definitely a holiday tradition at our house! (First time I saw it back in 1990 in the theater, I had to try really hard to choke back tears at the very end. Didn't succeed very well.)

Definitely a good upgrade from DVD...

I dont understand what the deal is with spending time with the family message in this movie. I would literally hang myself if i had to spend the holidays with relatives. Waking up in the morning and finding everyone gone was always a dream of mine when i was Kevins age. And it did happen a few times and it was the best!

I watched this twice during the holidays last year, and if you are a fan it is a must own. I think they did more than an adequate job with the transfer to Blu. I certainly qualify as a fan, and it's not like I can keep this one out of my collection when basically the whole movie was shot down the block from my office here in the North Shore of Chicagoland. Actually, I'm looking at the church right now

Classic film and sadly one of the few I would have bought on Blu even if I knew the quality was mediocre. Christmas Vacation being another, whos transfer is TERRIBLE!
