It also includes a CD sampler featuring 4 songs from the film. Here are the rest of the extras:

* Class Reunion Commentary with Branching Video Highlights and Featuring Director Alan Parker and Co-Stars Lee Curreri, Laura Dean, Gene Anthony Ray and Maureen Teefy
* Vintage Featurette On Location with Fame
* Fame Field Trip Visits the School That Inspired the Movie
* Q&A Interviews with Director F. Gary Gray and Producer Patricia Charbonnet
* Theatrical Trailer

I have the back cover art, but it may be too big to post on this page, I know people have been annoyed in the past by art I posted stretching the forums.

The Parker original is already out in the UK, so fans can pick it up from UK sites. It's Warners so it should be all-region.
Reports here, however, point to only a marginal improvement over an upscaled DVD with a porting of the existing extras.
My memory is the movie was always very grainy, so my hopes were never that high. http://www.homecinemachoice.com/play...flame+29+09+09

If this has the same commentary track as the DVD, it's a great listen. Alan Parker says at least six times that he hated the TV series spinoff, that it was sanitized and completely missed the point of his movie - which was not about kids singing and dancing, but about the dark side of ambition and the struggle to succeed as a performing artist.

I pray he did not see the twinkly, PG-rated, paper-thin remake. He'd choke on his popcorn. And we can't afford to lose another great director. (Why isn't Alan Parker more recognized? He's made some great films.)

Love how he said he didn't care too much for the cast.
