It was funny reading your concerns about the movie after having watched 50 minutes because that’s how I wound up feeling about the entire thing.

Wow, it looks awesome. Can't wait to get it. I saw this at a 3D theater and don't recall it being 1.78:1 but it looks like it is. Interesting decision.
Drew, do you recall anything in the extras that discussed going with 16:9 instead of their usual 2.35:1 AR?

Edit: Just remembered that Docter also chose it for Monsters, Inc so it just must be the AR he prefers.

How did you get it so early? I am so jealous. Anyways, I can't wait to see this. It's a first day must buy.

I gotta say, this move looks really stupid. But, since everyone seems to like it, I will give it a rent.

I caught that too; when I read the line about "the movie really takes off after the 50 minutes of set up I saw at Comic Con" I was thinking "how long is the freaking movie?"
Ok, 96 minutes, and it doesn't take off until over half way through the movie? I'll probably get slammed for this, but that's how I feel about most Pixar movies: mindless plot used as an excuse to show off pretty animation. I rented Wall*E; I can't remember anything about the "plot", except that it was a silly little robot that does stuff. I made the mistake of buying the Japanese import of Monsters Inc.; pure eye candy, but after watching it twice I don't remember anything about the "plot" except that silly big monsters do stuff. Ratatouille probably has the most interesting plot for me, but at the end of the day it's still a movie about a damn rat.

I'll have to rent Up to enjoy the visual eye candy, I just hope I can stay awake until it finally "takes off".

I thought the same thing about Wall-E. Now I think it has the potential to be viewed as the best movie of the decade.

Hi,

What previews have been included? Any future Disney or Pixar theatrical or blu-ray release?

Thanks,

I agree with most of what you said there... but I did actually like Monsters, Inc. I hate most other RECENT Pixar movies. I like the old ones like Monsters Inc, Bugs Life, Toy Story, etc.

Never a movie made me cry at the theater. Twice.

I'm sooo getting this the moment I see it in stores, it's not even funny.

BTW. I think some of the people here who don't really get a kick out of Pixar movies, should give them more credit. It would help if you watch their movies NOT thinking less of them right off the bat just because they're animated.

What's great from their movies, IMO, is that both kids and adults can enjoy it in two completely different levels. Don't get stuck trying to enjoy it as a kid would, just respect it enough to let it talk to you as a grown up, as a parent, as a proffesionist, as someone who has had its share of problems and triumphs over the past but still have uncertainty of what may be ahead of you.

Maybe then you'll get to experience what the latest Pixar films have been all about (at least, from Ratatouille and on).
