Josh....come on man....G.I. Joe is a million times better than the Transformers films. I don't want to start an argument over this, because they're both just silly action movies....BUT how can you seriously watch both of these movies and say that they are both complete shit fests.

Transformers 1 & 2 are definitely complete shit fests with no redeeming qualities.

G.I. Joe presents better characters (they're not all hot blone super models posing as scientists, with other characters thrown in for nothing but horrible comic relief), it presents a better story (the flashbacks are really well done, and add to the tension of what is going on in the story line), it presents better action scenes (in Transformers you can't even tell what robots die....its all so spastic, in G.I. Joe you have a good sense of the action), and G.I. Joe captures the feeling of the Cartoon show...and simply just the joy of playing with G.I. Joes as a kid...and smashing everything all to hell with them. The entire movie is like setting up a G.I. Joe Battle and just going crazy. Its a hell of a lot of fun.

The only basis for comparison between the two, and the only place where G.I. Joe falters, is that they are both OVERLY LONG. G.I. Joe is a fun film, that wears out its welcome by the time the credits role. An hour and a half of the action in this film was enough, and there are so many exciting action scenes that the last action scenes seem kind of anti-climactic; so the end of the film doesn't leave you with a good impression. The majority of the film is very well done though, when you take the movie for what it is.

XFormers 1 has redeeming qualities. Its the second film that has the issues. Most people feel this way. Just saying.

Im watching GI Joe in about an hour and I'l let my bruthas and sistas know what Da Liz thinks. Im sure you're all hanging on my every word, especially Zyber.

I'm actually interested in knowing your thoughts, because my friend and I hated Transformers 1 & 2, and we both went into "G.I. Joe" expecting it to be a zero star movie (like Transformers 2), and we both walked away from the movie fairly impressed with what they were able to achieve. Then, we both started reading reviews online, and were puzzled by most of the hate....

Not saying G.I. Joe is FANTASTIC by any stretch of the imagination, but to say that its a complete failure of a film is going a little far, because it is a success on many levels. You have to imagine that it would be pretty difficult to create a film that is supposed to appeal to both 8-10 year olds AND 20 somethings that played with G.I. Joes as a kid. It just seems like its a no win situation for the film makers, but this movie somehow turned out alright.

Ive been hearing that Joe isnt a bad action romp and has more to offer quality-wise than XFormers 2. I still think XFormers 1 was solid overall.

Looking forward to "Joeing" it up tonight. The curtains drop at 8pm....

Just noticed that GI JOE will now be shipping in 1-3 weeks. My order still has the shipping soon status, so I'm expecting it tomorrow or the day after. We'll see.

It doesn't matter, I ended up paying $18 for it via my Goldbox selection months ago.

Gosh, some people just aren't pleased with anything, no matter what. I had a BLAST with this film, and I was the biggest GI JOE fan ever: the toys, constantly, the tv show watched constantly every afternoon at 4:00 Channel 35 (Before it was bought by FOX) in the early 90's, and I felt that,.......Sommers perfectly captured the feeling of playing with said toys, in the snow or in your back yard, etc. perfectly. I haven't spoken with anyone who didn't enjoy this movie. Had a great time and picked it up today price matched at Best Buy for $19!!!!!

I hear you man. I think people take these kind of films WAY too seriously a lot of the time.

I hope to get to G.I. Joe tonight since it came in the mail today

^ THIS. And, don't forget that it captures the feeling of playing with the G.I. Joes underwater(like I used to do in my swimming pool) as well

My friends and I even used to play G.I. Joes inside the Christmas tree when we were kids...and we would hide the G.I. Joes inside the tree, pretending it was a deep forest....just like the forest at the beginning of this movie. I have to admit I was pissed when I lost some of my G.I. Joes inside the tree though...haha.

I'm sorry, but this movie was RAD, for the most part, and I'm not ashamed to admit that
