Seriously? Wait, no... I'm pretty sure this is a sick attempt at humor. Right???

ROTF was crap. Hateful, nasty, crap. And I loved the first one in many ways.

Joe had some problems, but was very enjoyable, made an attempt at a story, and wasn't incredibly racist and sexist.

I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone on the internet try and say that ROTF was better than GI Joe before...

I actually wanted to walk out of the theater on this one, but my 12 year old really wanted to stay. It was the worst movie I've seen in at least 20 years. Just thinking about it now triggers the vomit taste.

It was horrible, just horrible. Horrible acting, horrible dialogue, as far as action...I almost fell asleep because the whole thing was so disengaging. The only redeeming thing I found in this movie is that the lights actually came back on, and I hadn't died and gone to hell, as I was starting to fear. But, at least I now know what my punishment will be if I'm headed down that way when I die. An endless loop of this movie that I'm forced to watch. I'm going to start going to church.

For those who haven't seen it, please rent it first.

See, I was wondering if I was going to find anything redeeming in this movie. I never really watched the cartoon or played with G.I. JOE action figures. I haven't enjoyed ANY of Sommers' films. Well, maybe VAN HELSING, but only for Kate.

I don't mind big-budget mindless popcorn action flicks, as long as the action and effects are done well. From what I've seen in previews, the fx and action look poorly executed and cheesy.

I did enjoy both TRANSFORMERS films without ever feeling nostalgic, because I wasn't into them as a kid, either. I also think Stephen Sommers makes Michael Bay (I actually like his films) look like Scorcese.

Can't see myself ever watching this. I put it in the same category as Doom.

No, RotF was definitely better. Better action. Better effects. More Transformers. Better Everything.

Right, if you can call that a story.
Spoiler:
The movie should have been called The Rise of Cobra's Trip to Jail

How is RotF racist? That has got to be the most asnine comment anyone could make.

Well it was. But then again, Transformers will always trump GI Joe in everything. Transformers holds the spirit and essence to the name Transformers, GI Joe did not even feel like a GI Joe movie. It just felt like some generic piss poorly acted military/terrorist movie without the charm that makes it GI Joe. Snake-Eyes was the only character that was in character, everyone else did not even feel like they were the characters, especially Scarlett. And who thought it was a great idea with the whole Baroness/Duke/Rex crap? For months I defended the Joe movie, telling people there is no way it is going to suck, and it did. It took the very essence of GI Joe and spat on it. Hell, Cobra La was even more threatening than Cobra was in this movie. I think that Channing Tatum would be the perfect significant other for Megan Fox, as they both act so wooden I've seen tree branches that do a better job.

I guess Iphones, any music with the f word in them, and hybrid cars, make that cars in general aren't mainstream then because Walmart doesn't carry them, hence they COULDN'T POSSIBLY be mainstream

Huh. I cringed at every single line of dialogue that came out of Channing Tatum's mouth. And when I wasn't doing that, I was busy cringing at every single line of dialogue that came out of Sienna Miller's mouth, or Marlon Wayans' mouth.

Maybe because I liked GIJOE as a kid... but I loved this movie. I know the acting wasn't great... but I couldn't care less. It was super fun (at least for me).

It's probably nostalgia. I hated the Transformers movies... both of them.

See my avatar.

It's precisely because I loved G.I. Joe as a kid that I didn't like the movie, which bears no resemblance to G.I. Joe at all.

Haha, agreed. Because we all know "More transformers" ALWAYS equates to "more awesome!!!!"

Michael Bay could make a piece of turd transform and it would just keep making the film all the more better.

Except Michael does make good action movies. The Rock is one of the best action movies ever made. The Island had some great twist and turns despite its predictable ending. Both Transformers movies are A list action titles. If you expected a deep intricate plot with this as there was with The Watchmen, Star Trek, and Public Enemies, then that is your own fault. For me, Transformers was just as wonderful as if I were watching the original series back as a child.

And you think that is racist? Wow, I feel bad for you. No offense, but maybe you need to grow up and come into the real world, as that is not even close to racist. I hate it how people like you throw the word racist around like it is a new gimmick. If you disagree with something, or want to act politically correct, it is considered racist. If you see some white guy with a bumper sticker that says, "I am proud to be white," he obviously must be racist. What is the American dream? All of the black people swimming back to Africa with a Jew under each arm. Oh my god, that must make my comment racist because I made a race joke. Sorry, but open your eyes, they were not racist, the characters were influenced by what goes on around them while the actors (one of them who is black) were having fun. You do know they adlib most Skids' and Mudflap's dialog right?

Psst, Shakespeare has an 'e' on the end of it. If you're going to preach always make sure your grammar and spelling is correct. That goes for your signature as well.

you, uh , kinda lost me there with the whole swimming thing Kain?

Yes, Bay has had some success with the Island and Rock, and deservedly so (even if he is an asshat), but we're going to have to agree to disagree about what he has done to the Transformers franchise, this turd stunk IMO.
