Me too. Absolutely crushed; I was soooo looking forward to seeing something that (from the box art) appears to have been drawn by high-schoolers during after-school detention.

This is what you were asking people. A sequel to KONG: KING OF ATLANTIS, the animated feature KONG: RETURN TO THE JUNGLE fashions a modern spin on the King Kong tale with a benevolent half-ape/half-human hybrid that fights crime.
To your other question on If Peter Jackson will come out with another sequel to the 2005 King Kong, the answer is most likely no.
