It's disappointing at best and sad at worst that many of the decisions crucial to films being released to retail are made by people that don't give a damn about the intentions of the creators and about the fans that want to own what they originally enjoyed.
I'm sure film fans on this site can recall a litany of reviews that led to their excitement diminishing as they read the news that someone along the bluray production line paid no attention to fans and decided to use a cleaver on a favorite of theirs.
Here's hoping Michael Mann was intimately involved in the coming release of Heat.Imminent Doom Evasion Strategy & Tactics Expert -

Uhh..
Movie: 4 out of 5
HD Video Quality: 3.5 out of 5
HD Audio: 4 out of 5 Stars
Supplements got some sort of score and so did High-Def Extras.. Yet, 90% of the flicks that come through here have nothing.
and yet.. It's A Big Disappointment.
I'll tell you what I found to be a big disappointment, The scores that were given compared to the rest of the article.

Fantastic review by Josh Z. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I am very disappointed that the original language track isn't lossless. I don't know why the studios keep booting us the fans like this and keep putting out sub-par products.
I will rent it and will definitely look for an Asian version that is nicely done.

I hate it when they dumb down the subtitles! Fortunately, in this case, it doesn't matter to me. But then there's the case of Let The Right One In... Grrrrr

I was really hoping for a new demo disc. To me the cinematography in the movie begged for it. I will still pick it up, though the less than perfect picture rating means I will not pay a premium for it as I would have if it were demo worthy.

Miramax stinx! Do they purposely try to sabotage their releases? I'll stick with my HK DVD import.
