Default 'Rescue Me: Season Three' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Kenneth's review of 'Rescue Me: The Complete Third Season.' He says fans of the show won't be disappointed by this Blu-ray release, which boasts strong video and audio quality, plus a fun (but far from monumental) supplemental package.

once again though, Blu-ray delivers something new and fresh that people are talking about, and in a solid good looking package to boot.

I wanted to pick one up at Best Buy. They had 10 in stock with a $99 price tag. Who makes the prices at BB and CC? They are very expensive when it comes to Blu Ray and HD discs.
Unfortunately Fry's didn't have any. If you have a Fry's nearby, this is a great place to get Blu Rays or HDs.

Best Buy typically charges MSRP on box sets.

This is now my favorite show. Picked up the set last night, $65.99 CAN, the BD is pretty amazin both Audio/Video. My favorite episode from the set is "Hell."

Looking forward to Season 4! I hope Sony gives us 1 & 2 soon.

I know this is old, but no, it's Region A.

Anyway I picked this up a few days ago during Futureshop's Sony BOGO deal (an outstanding deal too, since for some reason it was grouped up with movies during the promotion and was priced for only $32.99 instead of its regular price of $67.99, so I couldn't say no to this deal, picked this up with Volver and Volver had the higher price so both came out to $34.99 before tax, and a little under 40 bucks with tax, an awesome deal!!!), and while before hand I only knew of this show as Denis Leary as a firefighter, I can say that after watching most of Season 3 so far, it's definitely a lot of fun!

For some reason it has that charm like Weeds, except replace drug dealers with firefighters. Ok not really, but still, it's also awesome. lol

This blind buy worked out for me and has definitely made me a fan of the show. =)

Are you shure? Liesinc lists it as Region Free:
http://bluray.liesinc.net/

(Btw. thats the reason I prefer HD DVD...)

Of course I'm sure, because that's what it says on the back of the case.

Now unless they are lying on the back of cases with regards to regions on BD video, I don't think there is much room for debate really.

The review got one thing wrong, though. Sean isn't Tommy's brother-in-law, he's just going out with Maggie.

Fixed!

I could be wrong, but I believe Sean's marriage to Maggie is a plot point in season 4. I probably got my wires crossed since I was watching season 4 on TV when I was writing the season 3 BD review.

Regardless, thanks for the correction!

No problem. I haven't been able to see Season 4 yet, so thanks for the spoilers...j/k by the way.

I love this show, though, and it doesn't get the respect it deserves. I'm the only person I know that watches it.

I laughed my ass off at the Comedy Short on Disc 1. Pure Gold.

Ah! Sorry, didn't even enter my mind. I thought Season 4 was great -- it didn't make it to BD (yet) but it's out on DVD for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.

Hopefully we'll see a BD release maybe in a lead-up to season five, which has been pushed back to March 2009.
