Default 'The Waterboy' - High-Def Digest Review

Nate has reviewed 'The Waterboy.' He was appalled by this barebones release with a $40 MSRP. Video and audio are all over the map. Extras are non-existent. For an 11 year old catalog title, this thing is a piece of work. Skip it.

Meh, the $40 MSRP is bad. But as far as extras, there is no reason to be surprised there aren't any.

What a shame. This was a go to favorite. Oh well, maybe a bargain bin pick up one day.

Disney is by far the worst Studio releasing Blu ray discs. They are just awful.

Indeed. Disney is one of the best.

Anyway, I think the PQ is just fine for a catalog title. I'm very pleased with the transfer and the AQ as well. If you're a fan of the movie and can live without extras, do yourself a favor and buy this disc.

How about they are the worst when it comes to movies that don't carry the Disney name?

I'm disappointed that the PQ wasn't better as I absolutely love this movie. Maybe it's because I wasn't a fan of Sandler's at the time so I didn't know it was the same jokes as before. In my opinion, this movie and Happy Gilmore are his best films.

Yeah, 'Happy Gilmore' holds up the best amongst the stuff he's produced himself. I loved this movie when it came out, but you really can see ALL the same jokes from this one in everything he and his buddies have done since then.

One of my favorite comedies. I will pick this up since it will beat my non-anamorphic dvd.

loys, me and you will fight to the death on this one. having no supplements on this release if it were a 25 msrp is acceptable. at 30 msrp, it would have been odd, but not a big enough deal to cry foul over. at the 40 msrp that is equal to new releases, and MORE EXENSIVE than WB day of release titles (which hit 35.98 and 36.98), then it is a big enough issue to cry foul over.

Its $24.99 at amazon. I dunno if i paid that much.

Have yet to check it out on Blu

I'm sure its not too bad a transfer. Disney or err.. Touchstone doesn't do a good job with catalog releases.
