Default 'Green Lantern: First Flight' - High-Def Digest Review

Tom has reviewed 'Green Lantern: First Flight.' He says this is a welcome direct to video production, but one with a few flaws. Animation-wise, this soars to new heights. The Blu-ray has excellent video, slightly underwhelming audio, and a few extras. Worth a look.

what's up with WB shoving their little "making of" featurettes for other releases on these lately? i mean in this case, those movies have all been available for months if not years. its as if they dont have much to show for these more recent movies so they shove those old featurettes on there just to make the disc seem filled.

it cant be a promotional thing, i'm pretty sure 99.9% of people who buy the DC movies already own or at least are aware of the other movies.

lemme guess, the superman/batman disc will have a featurette for green lantern.

Great movie imo. DC keeps getting better and better with these.

this was a good one i thought. the firsr 20 minutes the pacing is definitely off, but it falls into a groove eventually.

the only problem is they spoiled us the first time out with how FANTASTIC wonder woman was.

I agree, the Wonder Woman movie is Fantastic. I'm not to sure what you mean by first time out though. There are a few other movies that came out before these. Justice League New Frontier, Superman Doomsday and some others.

I have a Green Lantern question, but it doesn't have anything to do with 'First Flight'.

If they're going to make a live action movie with Ryan Reynolds, how can they dress him up in the standard-issue black leather "superhero" costume and still call him Green Lantern? It's a conundrum!

LOL, good point. Let's just be happy they chose HIM for the black leather instead of justin timberlake....

That's DC for you...they never respect canon. Marvel or nothing.

Where did you hear that the costume is going to be the standard black leather? From what I remember that's pretty much been limited to Singer's lame decesion on X-Men. Fantastic Four, Superman, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Spiderman, The Watchmen, etc etc all had pretty faithfull costume renditions. Only small tweaks here and there, but overall reasonable costumes.

Fan Art, but a solid look none the less...

That's not a bad mock-up, though his mask looks a bit goofy.

I really enjoyed this animated movie. The action is great and the alien settings, complete with lots of interesting species, are very exciting. Sinestro comes across as fairly likable too, till the **** goes down. But I agree that it should be longer (like all the DC movies).

fan art....an obvious sign of someone (the creator) who has too much time on their hands, and too few dates on their calendar.

always was a fan of green lantern. if my wbshop actually gets fulfilled, i'll get to see this very soon.

It's not the mask, it's Reynolds.

Oh yeah, forum posting is a much better use of someone's time than creating fan art.
