Default 'Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series' - High-Def Digest Review

Tom Landy has just turned in one of the most massive reviews in HDD's history. His review of 'Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series' is really impressive, and a must read! The series has never looked or sounded better than it does on this ginormous Blu-ray set, and "comprehensive" isn't a strong enough word for describing the supplemental package. Pull up a comfy chair and read on. Highly Recommended.

I don't see a review but the "details" page.

I wish my BSG would arrive in the mail already.

edit: nevermind. I see the review now. Nice!

My apologies for it being a bit late by the way. First I'm in Canada so it took a bit longer to get to me, then I had a wicked flu for a week and a half which didn't help matters. I had plenty of time to dig through the set, but that's about all I could do. Just sit and stare forward. I'm glad I didn't start having a bacon aftertaste or I would have been *really* concerned.

That's a crazy long and detailed review.

Good stuff. Edward James Olmos would approve.

As badly as I want this I will wait until individual seasons are released as I simply hate the packaging of the boxset.

Am I the only one who thought this show takes itself way too seriously? Every time someone would say frak I would laugh my ass off

i noticed the final season is split in two and referred to as 4.0 and 4.5 like the individual release....thats sorta odd. so does this mean this collection is simply the individual season releases sitting together? because you'd think this being a complete series collection, they'd have put those together and simply called it "season 4".

this might just be me but a complete series collection shouldn't reflect the individual releases. it should be treated as one big collection.

anyway aside from the miniseries, ive never watched this. maybe someone i know will buy eventually so i can check it all out. seems cool.

I still have a hard time telling a difference between the HD DVD release and the BD version of season 1 in real world viewing. This is the second or third review that says the BD has improved but posted screenshots don't show much of a difference at AVS, mostly grain differences.

For the Complete Series, each season gets its own box/case within the big box. So there are a total of four separate boxes within.

Season 1 -- has all of season 1 plus the miniseries
Season 2 -- has all of season 2.0 and season 2.5
Season 3 -- is season 3
Season 4 -- has all of season 4.0 and 4.5 (which includes the tele-movie Razor)

They broadcast seasons 2 and 4 in separate halves and released it that way when it initially came out on DVD. The only thing that kinda sucks besides the goofy packaging is that they didn't include the season 4.0 webisodes "The Face of the Enemy", although they are not really necessary to understand the plot of season 4.0 and onward. Also, the second tele-movie "The Plan" doesn't come out until this fall. I wish they would've made a slot to put The Plan inside of the big box.
