Default 'Dollhouse: Season One' - High-Def Digest Review

Drew has reviewed 'Dollhouse: Season One.' He says this is one of the best shows on television. This Blu-ray has strong video and audio and a wonderful collection of special features. Highly recommended. A must own for fans.

This is one of the last minute blind buys that I didn't actually buy. I decided to rent. I'm glad I did. I was only able to get through about half of the episodes before I sent them back.

I just didn't give a shit about the main character. Hell, if it would have been about the handlers or even the British broad running things, that would have been cooler.

Ugh.

Oh, but the tech specs are great.

It only started getting good about 6 or 7 episodes in. I was about to give up until then but glad I didn't.

I got this set for $23 so I'm happy with it. I would not have paid the normal price.

Yeah, I didn't like this show. Dushku is pretty one dimensional as far as characters go, and I could never get past the premise of the show. Plus, it pissed me off this show lived while the better Terminator series got canned.

I'm still bitter that this show is continuing and Terminator canceled. I did think Dollhouse was ok and remain a Whedon fan but Terminator was 10x's better.

HBO/SHowtime do it better, unless it's the Sarah Connor chronicles.

HBO/Showtime are the very best. True Blood, Dexter, Weeds, and much more.

The cardboard 'wannabe' slip fits well right inside the plastic (above the coverart) Wish it had a normal slip though...

Yeah, I was surprised by the review. Its cool that Drew really dug the show, but I just couldn't get into it. I deliberately stuck with the show until the apparent "this is where it gets good" episode, which was good, but then I didn't like the next episode after that and I finally gave up on the whole thing.

I don't know, maybe at that point I was just resentful that it was renewed and Terminator was canned.

Dollhouse and Terminator had no correlation between the two. One getting renewed did not mean the other had to be canceled. Warner essentially gave the show to Fox for 'free' for the back 9 to drum up interest in the new movie.

This show was great - I hope to get the bonus disc soon from Netflix to check out the pilot and the unaired episode.

That is to say, when it started airing this year on Fox, nobody had seen anything like it, really
Ummm how about Total Recall. Implanting fake memories has been done before.

Anyway, I've only seen some episodes so I'll give it a rent since it's Whedon.
