'Wedding Crashers' - High-Def Digest Review
Nate has reviewed 'Wedding Crashers.' He says this comedy has lots of great replay value. This Blu-ray doesn't offer the best video and audio, but it does come with plenty of extras. This is worth a look based on the film alone.

I'll point out Xylon's comparison thread over at AVS where he shows the two versions of the movie (theatrical vs. extended) use entirely separate encodes:

Theatrical ends up having more grain and the extended appears more DNR-ed. Odd to say the least that they used two different encodes instead of seamless branching. -

Yep... I'll definitely add this to my collection. But not until I can get it for less than $15. Might even wait for it to be $9.99 at Frys!

Dear Studios: I have money to spend. But I'm being more frugal with it in my retirement. You want some of it?.... You gotta lower those street prices! $20 for a catalog title on Blu is ridiculous!

Finally got around to watching this the other day and I think it's the worst looking Blu-ray I own. It's bad. I actually watched the theatrical version since I find the unrated to drag a bit and it was riddled with DNR and noise.

no problemo, chief. i love the film, too. some titles get lost in the shuffle with all the other things going on. it's tough to fill in all the gaps AND continue moving forward, but we're trying. if it makes ya'll feel any better, my next review will be the first review for a blu-ray of the import nature (
), and i have a few other titles in the works that no other site has.

Hoping to get a new cult for Christmas. Already tired of playing with the last one. -

That sucks that it doesn't default to the best audio. Most consumers just hit play and assume its going to look/sound the best. I always double check, though as my stats show I can't use the newer codecs, but my player (PS3) always defaults to the one I can support even if the lossless is the default. However if something defaults to a lesser codec than I can support, it goes with the default. (If it defaults to DD stereo instead of DD 5.1 for example)
Blu-Ray: PS3/Panasonic DMP-BDT220
HD-DVD: Xbox360 HD-DVD Drive
HD Gaming: PS3, Xbox360, Wii U, PC, PS Vita

Audio: Onkyo TX-NR717 -

Its a shame this movie didnt get a better transfer as its definitely one of my favorite comedies.
I also agree that 20$ is silly for a catalogue title. However, I dont own it on dvd so i'll probably snag it once it drops to 15. -

I don't know why Warner continues to do the lossy soundtrack as the default. If you don't have the proper receiver, a lossless track will automatically downgrade to the lossy one anyways so thanks but no thanks, Warner.
