Drew has reviewed 'The Great Buck Howard.' This ain't that great. This Blu-ray has bad video, just slightly better sound, and some weak extras. A rental, but keep your expectations low.

Over at WIDESCREEN REVIEW, Gary Reber gave the video a "5" and raved about the image quality. This is strange as they are generally more critical of the video quality at WSR. The review at DVDFILE is more like the review here at HDD. Looks like WSR is the one off base.

Yeah, the video quality on this one is mostly crap. Its probably about a 2-2.5 IMO.
The movie itself is more than pretty decent though. Its just a very breezy, lighthearted film that goes by very quickly. It also made me laugh on more than a few occasions. I would probably give it in the 3.5 range (maybe a 4 if I was feeling very generous). Basically, I really enjoyed it. |

Saw this when it was a free preview on HDNet Movies. I already forgot about it. Seems like they had some vague idea for a story but no plot or compelling characters to drive it forward.
