Well Monster Squad has been out on DVD for 2 years so I think it is an appropriate time for Lionsgate to dip into this title again. Anyone know how well the DVD release did?

I'm sure it did terrific. It was very popular across the forums. Frankly, Lionsgate was iditioic for not releasing it on Blu-ray when the DVD hit. The horror market is strong on BD. It should have been a no-brainer for this Halloween at the latest but Lionsgate continues to sit on it.
PS3 40GB (living room), Panasonic (bedroom)

Yeah IMO Lionsgate doesn't really have much to offer when it comes to quality films. I mean they are releasing Cutthroat Island and The Ninth Gate...2 titles I don't exactly see selling like hotcakes. I would definitely pick up Monster Squad though and I figure a lot of people here would too.

From what I have read, it was how well Monster Squad did on DVD paved the way for Sony to release Night on DVD and Blu. So.. Lionsgate will prolly double dip and get this sucker out very soon....
I sold my soul cheap to the Japanese.

It is after the end of the world, don't you know that yet..

Regarding paving the way for a Monster Squad Blu, though, the onus is on Lionsgate here in the States. You never know, though. It seems like a lot of more cultish stuff is getting the upgrade lately (this, Hardware, etc, etc).
I hear you man I was ready to do the same thing! lol. So awesome this is coming out I think the days of waiting YEARS for something to come out on Blu ray are over, in that, they'd (the studios) probably fig. they should cash in now before all this disc-based media (hopefully, long long time from now) goes to the next thing or whatever. Either way please keep releasing cult fare like this on blu, baby!!!!
player is 40 gig PS3. It's never blown up.
    I still when I'm nostalgic for 2006.
