Default 'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb' - HDD Review

Our review of 'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb' has been posted. This remains the whopping Gobstopper of cautionary comedies. This Blu-ray arrives with strong video and audio and plentiful extras. A must own for serious film fans.

Default This is a great Blu-ray disc

I pre-ordered this on Amazon and watched it a couple of weeks back with the War Room trivia track/PIP and was really impressed with the presentation. This is one of my favorite movies (I still even have my special edition LaserDisc) and was glad to see it given such great treatment on BD. I really like the "book" style packaging on this and other prestige discs (like How The West Was Won); I hope it becomes a standard.

Are there different versions of the cover? I've only seen the following in stores, but really enjoy the white cover that's posted in the review (and I've seen elsewhere online also):

Is their skin colour significant in any way to the film? So why mention it?

YEAH! And why is it a "white-knuckle thriller"? "White House"? "Blacks are deep and inky"? and the worst of all...a "black comedy"?!

I think this one looks good for its film stock and age. Sony give this the 4K remastering treatment. Kudos to them for going the extra mile on a culturally important masterpiece!

If you're referring to my post it appears fine for me. It's from DVD Beaver: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...trangelove.jpg

Yea when I first saw this on video when I was about 13 I didn't even know Sellers was playing three different roles; I just accepted them as three different characters.

Also, the grain seemed to translate poorly on my screen at first (more annoying than authentic) but the image was set to "vivid" and resetting it appears to have ameliorated things.
