    http://www.amazon.com/The-Goonies-Bl...8662551&sr=1-1

    Is this a legit domestic US release? Or is it like some import all region release?

    rule of thumb: if there is no announced street date, or even amazon pricing, yet there are amazon 3rd party sellers with it, then it's safe to say it's an import. probably the UK one.

    I think WB mentioned in a chat over at HTF that Goonies is getting a US release in 2010 for the 25th anniversary.

    I own the Goonies import. It should be region free and I found the transfer to be very impressive. Definitely worth importing.

    considering the US release will be identical who cares?
    this is THE Warner release so you can bet your bottom dollar
    that the US one will be EXACTLY THE SAME.

    A UK seller has a few copies on ebay. Has it listed as Region 2 though.

    Well not exactly. The UK has slightly thicker Blu-ray cases for some reason. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if this one received digibook treatment.

    It works fine in Region A. I picked up mine here in Blu-ray Exchange.

    Honestly, as much as I like this film I'll be waiting... I'm not sure Goonies is worht $40 to me just right now. And who knows, if this thing gets digibook treatment it might be worth it.

    import from amazon.uk
    hardly $40 even with shipping.
    it is always 10 pounds now.
    It's actually a bit more right now for some reason.
    It has been 9.98 forever, and is often included in buy 2 get 3 deals from amazon.uk.
