any possibility of a House of Flying Daggers re-release?
has anybody ever heard anything about this?
i know it's probably a long shot, but maybe somebody knows something
i still haven't seen the film, even though i've been meaning to
same with Curse of the Golden Flower
and i know i want Crouching Tiger
right now, i'm thinking of buying the "trilogy", mainly because it's only $40 and includes 2 films that i haven't seen and want to see, as well as a film that i love
the only thing stopping me right now is the bad video quality reviews that House of Flying Daggers gets -

There's a French Blu-ray (locked to Region B) of the uncut version of the movie. Despite an AVC encode, it looks pretty much the same as the American disc.
The concensus seems to be that this movie is at the mercy of the master provided by the original Asian studio. A lot of the problems may even stem back to the Digital Intermediate used in post-production, which would mean they're just inherent to the movie.
Sony doesn't seem to have a lot of interest in revisiting this movie. I doubt that there will be a reissue anytime soon.Josh Z
